About FA Consulting, LLC

My name is Frank Alvarado, founder of FA Consulting LLC. I’m a retired U.S. Department of Labor Wage & Hour Investigator and a 15-year U.S. Army veteran. I began my federal enforcement career in 2009 with the Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, starting in the Gainesville, Georgia Field Office. In 2018, I transferred to the Orlando, Florida Area Office, where I served until my retirement in 2024.

During my career, I conducted hundreds of wage & hour investigations across multiple industries, reviewing payroll and time records, interviewing employees, and meeting directly with employers to explain findings and compliance requirements. I negotiated compliance and the payment of millions of dollars in back wages and liquidated damages, developed cases for litigation when necessary, and provided testimony in federal court. I also participated in outreach and education efforts to help employers and stakeholders better understand the laws enforced by the Wage and Hour Division.

Today, through FA Consulting LLC, I use that real-world enforcement experience to help employers, attorneys, CPAs, and HR professionals identify wage & hour risks, correct issues early, and stay compliant—before problems turn into costly investigations or public enforcement actions.
