My name is Frank Alvarado. I am a retired Wage and Hour Investigator and a 15-year active US Army veteran. I began my career with the United States Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division in 2009. I started in the Gainesville, GA Field Office. I transferred to the Orlando, FL Area Office in 2018 where I remained until 2023.
My enforcement career involved conducting hundreds of investigations of employers to establish application of the Wage and Hour Division labor laws. A typical investigation included initial conferences, employees’ interviews, time and payroll records review, computations, and final conferences to provide explanations to the employer and their representatives of my findings and conclusions.
I negotiated for compliance and payment of millions of dollars in back wages and liquidated damages in my years of service as a wage and hour investigator. I developed cases for litigation when appropriate and provided testimony in federal court. I have also participated in outreach events for the department to present and educate the public and stakeholders on the laws the wage and hour division enforces.
I have established a Wage and Hour labor laws consulting practice. I can provide expert consulting services to employers, attorneys, CPAs and accounting firms, associations, agents and human resource agencies on the laws that the Wage Hour Division enforces. I can provide those services in a variety of ways, such as onsite compliance audits, telephone, and video conference meetings. I look forward to serving you in the future with all your compliance needs and providing you with the best of my expertise.
