Required Workplace Posters

Required Workplace Posters

Employers covered by federal wage and hour laws are required to physically display certain notices where employees can readily see them. Which posters apply depends on which federal laws cover your business. Poster content is updated periodically as regulations change, so rather than hosting downloadable copies here that could go out of date, we link directly to the U.S. Department of Labor’s official, always-current versions.

Not Sure Which Posters You Need?

Start here: the Department of Labor’s Poster Advisor asks a few questions about your business and tells you exactly which federal posters you’re required to display.

Fair Labor Standards Act (Most Employers)

Family and Medical Leave

Federal Contractors

Agricultural Employers

H-2B Employers

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Posting requirements are federal minimums — many states and some cities require additional posters on top of these.
  • Posters generally need to be displayed in English and, where a significant portion of the workforce is not fluent in English, in the predominant language(s) spoken at that location.
  • If you have multiple worksites, each covered location typically needs its own posting, not just your main office.
  • Consent judgments, DOL settlements, or third-party monitoring agreements can add posting requirements beyond the standard federal posters.
